A piece of paper can't tell you if someone shows up, communicates well, or actually cares about the work. We think a 60-second video can.
We're based in Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas. We kept watching great students at KU, K-State, and WSU get passed over — not because they weren't qualified, but because their résumé looked like everyone else's.
At the same time, local employers told us they wanted to hire students but didn't know where to find them. The Career Center had a waiting list. Job boards were full of noise. Nobody was solving the local version of this problem.
So we built Haystak. Students record a pitch. Employers browse. When someone stands out, they connect — and a real email introduction happens. No applications. No ghosting. Just two people who want to work together.
